Dr. Ghufran KhirAllah holds a Ph.D. in Sociolinguistics from the Autónoma University of Madrid. The PhD research studies the European political and feminist discourse on national hijab visibility.  She is the author of the book "Framing Hijab in the European Mind" which focuses on the construction of gendered Islamophobia in Spanish and British Press discourse. She is a holder of a diploma in Religion and Law in a democratic society: Challenges of Coexistence in a Plural Context from Zaragoza University, Spain. She has developed a novel research methodology called CCDA (Cognitive Critical Discourse Analysis), which combines Cognitive Linguistics and Critical Discourse Analysis theories to identify the mental frames that control the public debate on cultural diversities. She is a professor of Sociolinguistics in the official Master class at Nebrija University. Her research approach encompasses European identity, religious visibility, feminism, and Muslim women's rights. She is a post-doctoral researcher in CHANSE European Project: Digital Islam in Autonoma University of Barcelona.
