Ann Mabbott c

Ann Mabbott is the English Language Specialist assigned to Spain in the fall of 2018, and to Russia in the fall of 2019, through the US Embassy. She was recently granted the title of Professor Emeritus from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, where she was the director of the Center for Second Language Teaching and Learning. Most recently, she implemented the English Learner in the Mainstream (ELM) Project in Minnesota, which is funded by the US Department of Education.
Dr. Mabbott’s work has focused on the education of language teachers, both language specialists and content teachers who have language learners in their classes. The ELM Project work is twofold: 1. Preparing all pre-service content teachers to meet the linguistic needs of English learners, and 2. Preparing practicing English language specialists to coach their content colleagues in the schools where they teach on how to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of the English learners in their classes.
Dr. Mabbott’s Ph.D. is in Second Languages and Cultures Education from the University of Minnesota.
